Yoga Sutras of Patanjali translated by Yogi Kalinath - Chapter 4, Verse 24
Pada 4, Sutra 24
Sanskrit Verse
Tad asankhyeya-vaasanaabhish citram api paraartham samhatya-kaaritvaat
Translation
That consciousness, although filled with countless subconscious impressions exists for the purpose of another, the Self, because it can only act in collaboration with it.
Interpretation
Everything for a purpose and a purpose for everything. Everything has a design and a designation.
The mutable, Prakriti, is ultimately for the purpose (Mukti) and enjoyment (Bhukti) of the immutable, the Purusha just like society is to the individual or a house is to the owner occupant. Otherwise there would be no Rita in the Universe meaning no natural laws, ordering mechanism nor purpose.
Reflection
Awareness of awareness is the key that opens the door of consciousness to existential presence moment to moment on the continuum of eternity.
