Yoga Sutras of Patanjali translated by Yogi Kalinath - Chapter 4, Verse 33

Pada 4, Sutra 33

Sanskrit Verse

Ksana-pratiyogee parinaamaaparaanta-nirgraahyah kramah

Translation

The sequence and its counterpart, the moment, cease at the final end of transformation.

Interpretation

There is one constant behind all changes, the unshakable, the immutable, the silent Eternal Witness.

Time is only relative and made up of moments. To the Seer there is no longer any past nor future just the Eternal Now, the unfolding of Reality as is.

Reflection

The disciples said to Jesus : "Tell us how our end will be." Jesus said : "So have You discovered the beginning, that You look for the end ? For where the beginning is, there the end will be. Fortunate is he who stands at the beginning ; he will know the end and will not taste death." Verse 18, The Gospel of (according to) Thomas.
